Our ministries are meant to serve you while we serve God. Everything we do at New Ground Church is geared around the Word of God, Fellowship, Worship, and the Holy Spirit. Though the ministries themselves might be specifically targeted, they all still should carry the same underlying DNA.

God wants us to keep the major things major, and the minor things minor. There are foundational principals and then there are decorative methodologies. It is our hope that we never waver from the absolutes of God’s commandments but yet we remain flexible to the things God has given us liberty to explore through the leading of His Holy Spirit in our church.

Make yourself at home here at New Ground Church. In any relationship there are give and takes. We give, you receive. You give, we receive. When we serve in harmony like that, God is glorified in the unity of the body of Christ. The world will look on and see our love for one another and will thirst for God and His Son Jesus Christ. Let’s make Him famous as we serve together. Feel free to browse the ministry tabs above. We look forward to serving with you!

To enter God’s kingdom, you must be born again. Just look to Jesus Christ, who died for your sins on the cross, and believe in Him and His love for you, and that transformation will take place. Thus the question, “Have you been born again by the Spirit of God?” If not, the process is very simple.

Today you’re in one of two camps; it all depends on your relationship to Jesus Christ. You can both believe and look in faith to Jesus, who died for you on the cross; or you can continue going on as you are. It’s an amazing thing—to be lost; you don’t have to do anything. Just keep on doing what you’re doing now and you will perish.

But, if you look to the cross and believe in the One who died for your sins, then the free gift of God is yours… The gift of eternal life.

The Bible says:

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God—Romans 3:23

Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out—Acts 3:19

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life—John 3:16

If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved—Romans 10:9

If you want a personal relationship with God and the assurance that your sins have been forgiven, here is a suggested prayer…

Father, I come to you, confessing my sin and asking for your forgiveness. I thank you, Lord, for You have promised that if I will confess my sins, You will be faithful to forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. I want to turn from my sins, and live in a way that will please You. And so I ask for your help, Lord. I ask that you give me the power through your Holy Spirit to live the right way.

I thank you that Jesus Christ died on the cross, paying the price for my sins, and then rose from the dead. I accept Him now as my Savior, my Lord, and my friend.

I also thank You, because You’ve said that whoever comes to You, You will in no way cast out. Thank you for giving me a new life in Christ. I surrender myself to you. Make me what you want me to be in Jesus’ name. Amen.

What Next?

If you have decided to accept Jesus Christ as your savior, you are now born again. Here are a few things that will help you to grow as a Christian…

PRAY—prayer is like a telephone line that goes directly to God. It’s important to spend time talking to Him every day, the more the better (Philippians 4:6).

READ THE BIBLE—the Bible is like a love letter from God. The more you read it, the more you’ll fall in love with Him (1 Peter 2:2).

FELLOWSHIP—you need to have friends who share your beliefs and who can encourage you. This is why it’s so important to find a good, Bible-believing church where you can meet other Christians (Hebrews 10:24-25).

WITNESS TO OTHERS—share your faith in Jesus Christ with others. Pray that the Lord will reveal how you should witness and when (Mark 16:15).

We invite you to come and worship with us. If you have any questions about your relationship with Jesus, the Bible, or if we can be of help in any way, please contact us at info@newgroundchurch.com or 434-770-5826

God bless you, and we pray that you continue to grow closer to the Lord every day!

Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of New Ground Church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. In the New Ground family we are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as being a greeter, to preparing the church media, and more.

Everyone has something to offer. At New Ground Church we understand that part of the blessing in the growth of a believer isn’t just taking in but also giving out. The Bible says that it’s more blessed to give than to receive. The Bible also says that every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father. Be a blessing and share the good gifts the Lord has entrusted you with, you wont regret it.

New Ground Church currently supports multiple missionaries around the world and we actively look for opportunities to reach out and help support those on the front lines. If you are interested in being apart of a short term missions trip please go to our Contact page and send us an email.

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists.  These volunteers are an important part of the ministry at New Ground Church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God. Please visit our “Worship Ministry” page under the “Ministries” tab for a more in depth understanding of the heart of worship according to the scriptures.

The usher team at New Ground Church fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, guiding traffic, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life.

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of New Ground Church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. If you have a desire to share you creative talents please go to our “Contacts” page and send us an email.

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer aligns our perspective and heart with God. New Ground Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, before the morning service,  we pray for our community, one another and the teaching of God’s Word. Throughout the week, we encourage you to be our Prayer Warriors. Pray for our pastor, our church family, our community, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs. “Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” James 5:16

In order to give our children the best Bible teaching possible, New Ground holds a children’s church service in conjunction with the main service. This special time gives kids more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context and manner that may be better suited to their age and learning styles. Our friendly children’s church volunteers have an endless stream of creativity–ranging from puppet shows, to games, to object lessons. For more information about our Children’s Ministry, please go to the “Children’s Ministry” page under the “Ministries” tab.

New Ground Church is eager to provide links to our weekly sermons. You can browse the selection on our Sermons page to keep up with the teaching ministry.

COVID-19 Updates:

To help maintain safe services we regularly clean and sanitize our facility before services. We have our sanctuary setup to help practice social distancing with the exception of households sitting together. We do not require face coverings but respect those who choose to wear them. For those who would like to be apart of the service without attending at this time, we livestream our services every Sunday at about 11am on Facebook.
Our children’s ministry is open and receiving children.
Thank You! NGC Staff

Hebrews – The Book of Hebrews addresses three separate groups: believers in Christ, unbelievers who had knowledge of and an intellectual acceptance of the facts of Christ, and unbelievers who were attracted to Christ, but who rejected Him ultimately. Nowhere else in the New Testament does the Old Testament come into focus more than in the Book of Hebrews.

We are remaining faithful every week to come together and worship and study God’s word, chapter by chapter and verse by verse. We start our in person service at 10:30am and 11am virtually on our Facebook page www.facebook.com/newgroundchurch
